Methodology
Every engagement starts with a survey that records each door against its certification evidence, gaps, seals, hinges, closer, latching, glazing, signage and frame condition. Findings feed a prioritised remedial plan, controlled installation or repair using compatible certificated components, and a planned maintenance cycle that keeps the asset register current.
Competence
Works are delivered by trained fire door inspectors and experienced joiners who understand fire door assemblies, intumescent and smoke seals, compatible ironmongery and the limits of each door leaf's test evidence. All work is supervised and documented.
Governance & Quality
Inspection and maintenance follow BS 8214 guidance and the manufacturer's certification data, supporting compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, the Building Safety Act 2022 and Approved Document B. ASB Quality is working towards FIRAS third party certification; that accreditation is currently in progress and we do not claim any fire door certification scheme until it has been awarded and evidenced.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should fire doors be inspected?
In residential buildings over 11 metres, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 require Responsible Persons to check communal fire doors at least every three months and to use best endeavours to check flat entrance doors at least every twelve months. Other buildings should follow the frequency set by their fire risk assessment, usage and condition.
Are you FIRAS certified?
Our FIRAS third party certification is in progress. We will only describe ourselves as certified once the accreditation has been awarded and can be evidenced.
Can you repair a fire door rather than replace it?
Often, yes. Many defects such as excessive gaps, missing seals, faulty closers or damaged ironmongery can be corrected using compatible certificated components. Where a door leaf or frame is beyond its tested limits, we recommend replacement with a certificated doorset.
