Methodology

Inspections follow a consistent checklist informed by BS 8214 and manufacturer data. Each door is uniquely referenced, photographed and assessed, and every defect is linked to a recommended action so that remedial works can be planned and priced accurately.

Competence

Surveys are completed by trained fire door inspectors who understand fire door assemblies, the limits of test evidence and the practical causes of door failure.

Governance & Quality

Findings are reported factually against the available evidence, and doors whose certification cannot be verified are clearly identified rather than assumed compliant. ASB Quality is working towards FIRAS third party certification; that accreditation is currently in progress and we do not claim any fire door certification scheme until it has been awarded and evidenced.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a fire door inspection include?

We check certification evidence, gaps, seals, hinges, closer, latching, glazing, signage, frame condition and self closing performance, recording each finding with photographs.

Do you inspect flat entrance doors?

Yes. We inspect flat entrance doors as well as communal doors, and we can coordinate resident access to support the annual best endeavours checks required in higher risk residential buildings.

What happens if a door fails?

Every failed door receives a recommended action, from simple adjustment through to replacement, so you can prioritise remedial works by risk.
